Pantry challenge update

Last month, I joined the Good Cheap Eats January Pantry Challenge, and did pretty well. One freezer is about half-full and the other is almost there. At one point, my husband pulled out all the bags of cherry tomatoes and made them into sauce which freed up a lot of space.

However, I never did a freezer inventory. Nor did I inventory the pantry though I went through it and cleaned out items. This week I’m inventorying the freezers and cleaning out the really, really old stuff. I’m also going through the kitchen cabinets and using up the old grains and beans sitting in there like the quinoa and black beans.

This month, I am trying some recipes from The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook. Since we don’t use canola oil and a few other ingredients, I’ll make adjustments where I need to.

That looks like a really good line up for February. That Ginger Chicken Stir Fry sounds so yummy.

Wat does your husband cook when he cooks?

He does the complicated meals. :) Actually, he’s the resident gravy and meatball maker. He also does pork which I just don’t feel comfortable cooking. You would find his type of cooking at a 4 star restaurant and mine at home. But…I’m the baker so we make a good team.

Sounds like a nice team you have going there.
