During July, I’ll be joining the Blog Summer Camp at Creating Motherhood, and you’ll get to see the more private side of A Life in Balance.
Day 2 -What were you like in high school? What extracurricular activities, if any, did you take part in during high school? Did you consider yourself a writer?
I was pretty quiet in high school and only participated in a few activities – marching band, choir, and the literary club. My favorite subjects were English, French, Art, and History. I loved all my English teachers from junior high through high school, and joined the literary club at both schools. I spent hours writing poetry throughout high school, and into college. Unfortunately, most of my poetry notebooks were lost when my Dad moved to a new home.
I think I considered myself a bit of a poet more than a writer, though I don’t think of myself that way anymore. Filling up on Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton turned me off the writing of poetry and onto writing in my journals.
Day 4 – What has most surprised you about being an adult? What have you learned about yourself through blogging?
I haven’t had any surprises so far as an adult, though I would say I’m still learning about myself. As far as blogging goes, I’ve learned that there are a lot of people like me out there, a lot of people who have a multitude of interests and don’t fit in just one cookie cutter. I learn something new everyday through blogging.
Don’t forget to visit other blogger’s writing spots, and come back daily in July to read about the blogger, me, behind A Life in Balance.
