blog summer camp: my writing spot

Where the Blogging Happens

During July, I’ll be joining the Blog Summer Camp at Creating Motherhood, and you’ll get to see the more private side of A Life in Balance.

Today – welcome to my writing spot. I came up with the idea for this desk one day at Ikea. I wanted something open and glass, and the 2 saw horses with a piece of glass fit the bill.

Underneath the green fabric on the wall are 2 shelves installed by my husband to keep our computer equipment out of the reach of small hands. The monitor on the desk came from my husband’s work after they upgraded their monitors.

I love the light coming through the windows, even though I have to shade one to keep out the morning sun. I would love to make that window bigger and be able to look out on my flower beds all the time.

Don’t forget to visit other blogger’s writing spots, and come back daily in July to read about the blogger, me, behind A Life in Balance.

It does. One of my favorite artists is Cezanne. I love the colors in his paintings. I love Rousseau, too.

Awww, you’re so sweet! Here’s a funny story. When I was growing up, I wanted my mom to paint my bedroom walls a similar sunny yellow. She kept refusing, and then finally she did it. Then she acknowledged how wonderful it looked. She just couldn’t visualize it.

What an amazing idea for a desk! I wish I would have thought of that a few years ago, it would have saved us a fortune on a desk. I also really like the bright, cheerful walls, I’d start everyday in that room.
