Ongoing linky parties: Motivation Monday and Fabulously Frugal Thursdays.

Grey skies.
I am thinking…
about fitness, health, and building the mental discipline to run a half marathon.
I am thankful for…
my family. Everyone has been relatively healthy this fall. Knock on wood.
I am pondering…
how important it is to walk in another person’s shoes and see life from their perspective.
Living a green/frugal lifestyle…
One success for me last week was remembering to grab a cloth shopping bag before going into a store. As a result, I’m running low on plastic bags to use for my Goodwill donations. That’s okay!
From the kitchen…
I started the October #unprocessed challenge last week and finished the week feeling great about my progress. I achieved my goal of stopping in a local coop to find about their bulk ordering of meat. I did better about using up leftovers. Some processed food did sneak into our family’s diet. I know one of the teachers at school gave my first grader a treat because his class has been number one in the Archdiocese for the First in Math program. We had our usual doughnut treat this morning after mass. I’m not sweating it.
I am creating…
plans for the week.
I am going…
I went to mass this morning, then a 7 mile run at a local wildlife refuge, followed by errands at the local mall.
I am reading…
Whole Living, Everyday Food, and Martha Stewart Living on the iPad thanks to my mom (she gave me the iPad) and the subscriptions Martha Stewart gave the BlogHer attendees who listened to her speak at BlogHer in August.
Living A Healthy Lifestyle…
I’m on my way to rebuilding my weekly mileage back up to 20 miles. I ended September at 12.5 miles per week. I started October with 15 miles logged last week. This week, I’m going to do 17.25 miles, building in a 7 mile distance run and a 5 mile race next Saturday. My 2 runs during the week will be 2.625 each.
Since I can’t do speed work yet or push really hard to strengthen my legs while running, I started doing intervals while walking and carrying weights.
Check tomorrow for big news for my Motivation Monday linky.
I am hoping…
For a fabulous week!
I am hearing…
Kids playing inside. Neighborhood kids are over.
Around the house…
I’m making progress in getting the house better organized and back in order. Thanks to Mom of 6′s Get Your Life Organized Boot Camp last week, I got my paperwork station set up in the kitchen. I’ve used it, and I’ve noticed my husband taking advantage of the station. Mom of 6 did a roundup of the bloggers participating in her challenge if you need some ideas and inspiration.
Yesterday, I spent some time on our 2nd floor landing which often turns into a dumping area for clothes, camping equipment and holiday decorations. I put the Halloween decoration boxes back in the attic, went through my clothes one last time for donations, pulled out some cold weather clothes for the kids, went through the 3 bookcases for donations, and wiped down the shelves and picture frames. I need to finish the area with a good vacuuming.
Next up – the basement.
Around the yard…
Thanks to the weather I wasn’t able to spend much time in the yard. My husband and oldest son started trimming our hedge yesterday.
One of my favorite things…
Fleece. As one who gets cold easily, fleece is my friend. I’ve even worn fleece on top of fleece.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Venturing, prek Lunch duty, and soccer.
A picture for thought…
