When I found out I won two tickets to the Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County Runway Show and Boutique at the Sheraton in Wilmington, I admit it – I squeed! My friend, Kelly Brown, squeed, too since I invited her to join me.

Thanks to Goodwill, I have a great wardrobe featuring names like Anne Taylor and Anne Klein for pennies on the dollar. Goodwill is my go-to store if I need anything for the kids, too. My husband is slowly getting on board with the whole Goodwill thing as he realizes how much buying power his money has at Goodwill.

I also love that Goodwill employs all types of people in their stores. Not to mention their philosophy of “Give a hand up, not a hand out.” And, let’s not forget nearly 5000,000 individuals donated clothing, electronics, toys, and housewares to Goodwill in 2012. They recycled over 13,000,000 pounds of textiles and other materials that could have ended up in a landfill.

Goodwill Runway ShowA new look for me.

Goodwill Runway ShowI’m loving this Talbot sweater. I could see wearing it with the blouse above. Maybe.

Goodwill Runway ShowAwesome stylists for Goodwill! I never would have picked out this dress in a million years, yet it looks fabulous on this model. I have much to learn about fashion.

My grand total for the night: about $40 (I forgot to save the receipts!)

Next year, I’m buying a VIP ticket to get into the boutique early. The stylists for the show went to all the local Goodwill stores and displayed the very best items. I’m also bringing more friends because friends help friends shop Goodwill.

I used to love going to Goodwill before I had kids. No I just don’t have time to spend hours searching through the racks. One of these days!

Congrat’s! I love Goodwill, but sadly don’t have one close to my house. Great finds…

Awe, Goodwill. I drop stuff off all the time but it requires lots of patience to go through their racks. Thanks for inviting me to your linky party.

I love Goodwill! It’s more exciting than shopping regular stores because of the wider array of styles available–not just the current trends. Each Goodwill store has a slightly different array of merchandise. I have gotten some great used books there.

I have to check the calendar for ours and see if they’re doing anything. I remember seeing a contest for something, and quite a few sale dates.
