Have you tried consignment sale shopping and selling to save money on your children’s clothes? Believe it or not, I never have. When I think of the money I could have earned by selling outgrown clothes! I saw the light at the Just Between Friends Western Mainline Consignment Sale when I attended the presale yesterday as part of the Real Mom Media bloggers.
The Just Between Friends Sale runs September 13th to 15th in the Greater Philadephia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. You’ll find everything from clothes to shoes to baby equipment and playpens, not to mention maternity, games, dvds, costumes, books, and strollers. Sell your items as a consignor and you’ll earn 60% of your sale price. If you volunteer, you’ll earn 70% and shop first during the presale. The average consignor earns $400! That would cover my clothing budget for the year!
Before going to the presale, I made quick list of items that I needed. I also made a mental list of items that could be skipped over if I didn’t find anything meeting my price point. Most of my list focused on my daughter’s needs since I have only one girl and 4 boys. Jackets are usually the hardest item for me to find used and in good condition. I was also hoping to find some cleats.
Just Between Friends Sale covers 35,000 square feet of space. The tables above are just a few out of maybe 75 tables spread throughout the hall. While the hall is jam packed with tables and clothing racks, there is plenty of space to walk around. If you need to put your bags down, JBF has a holding area in the back of the hall.
All items are tagged by the consignors and checked by Just Between Friends volunteers to ensure no broken pieces, missing parts or stains. The tags are visible, easy to read, and not easy to remove. If any item has more than one piece, it will be bagged or taped together.
I came home with 4 pairs of school shoes, one pair of snow boots, lots of clothes for my daughter, and a burning desire to consign my children’s clothes at the spring Just Between Friends sale. I share my finds in the video.
If you don’t have a Just Between Friends Sale in your area, you can start your own by joining the franchise.
Disclosure: I received $25 sale bucks from Just Between Friends Western Mainline Sale. The opinions and enthusiasm expressed in my post are purely my own.

wow $400 is great. loved your video! I love Gymboree wish my kids did not outgrow it. I used to consign their clothing and toys years back and sometimes would get more than I paid for the Gymboree stuff I bought on sale. That was a small shop in Wilmington DE. I would get about $30 a month and it was fun to shop there too. I think it is not there anymore, glad to find JBF!
